The Signal Corps Reenactor's Division (SCARD) provides and manages communications and information systems support for the command and control of combined Federal and Confederate forces during staged reenactment battle senerios and living history encampments. Signal support includes Network Operations (information assurance, information dissemination management, and senerio management). Signal support encompasses all aspects of designing, installing, maintaining, and managing information networks to include inter-line and cross-line communications (Which include 1860's period appropriate night and day visual communications as well as electric telegraph communications, and intelligence gathering). The Signal Corps integrate tactical, strategic and sustaining base communications, information processing and management systems into a seamless information network that supports Event Commanders and Hosts with knowledge and confidence for both Armies joint operations.

While it is not our place to design, create, or over-see event battle senerio's, living history encapments, or the like, effective "real-time" communications is a must to ensure the proper sequencing and correct troop movements, artillery fire, or the like, as observed from command. What better way to do it, then utilizing authentic signals of the civil war era Corps?

By envolving Signals into your event pre-planning and providing senerio details, timing, movements, group commanders, or any other critical actions/information, the Signal Corps can provide real-time, long distance action to ensure that they take place at the appropriate time. A great advantage is that all timing, actions, and communications are logged and a detail report provided to command of the respective armies for review and future event planning reference.

Whether your event is a full scale national event, a small local "hometown" skirmish, or film/documentary battle sequence, the Signal Corps can coordinate communications and timing between the command headquarters, field commanders, health & safety personal, or civilian senerio participants, both inter-line (Fed to Fed/Confed to Confed) as well as cross-line (Fed to Confed or Confed to Fed). Utilizing dedicated, experienced and trained signalmen with the sole purpose of providing these communications in a 1860's fashion (no radios's, no telephones, no farb), just civil war era technology.

Through our research division, we reproduce the communication style and method as used by the Corps during the civil war, the most efficient and time sensitive of the era. Utilizing a pre-conserted code (containing senerio specific commands), an alphabetical/text code (to spell out specific words/phrases in the event it is needed), A Medical Emergency Code (for field health & safety purposes), and a Stutter Code (combination of letters) to direct pre-planned senerio timing/sequences/orders.
